Mount Fuji - so different yet the same from home!

My first big sky! The world went rumbly and then… whoosh! We floated in the clouds. It was a little scary at first but Mommy’s arms were my best safety net.

Then, new world. So many bright lights and singing sounds! Trees come in red and yellow! A quiet place with a tall, orange gate… it felt whispery and old. Daddy carried me through crunchy, fiery leaves. Mommy smiled up at them, and she was the most beautiful color of all.

But the biggest thing… was The Mountain. It slept under a blanket of white cloud, so huge and gentle. I drank my milk there, looking up at its quietness. It felt like a giant friend. It is so different from home! But home is where Daddy and Mommy were! so it was just a lot of fun!

Daddy’s strong hands made me fly! Up, up over his head! I squealed with the happy-scaries. My heart did a giggle. Mommy too was in the action! Mommy always so gentle and full of love for me!

I have never seen so much sky before, all the way as far as I could see. But in the middle of it, my favorite places were still… Mommy’s heartbeat, and Daddy’s shoulder, and the sky that we shared.
